Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 5- My Creation

Well here it is- my creation for our 5th challenge. I must admit I was scared using only browns- not colours I tend to use much at all, but I guess that's why it's called a challenge! I have used Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Cajun Craze (for the first time ever!) and Crumb Cake for my colours; and have paired them with the "Autumn Spice" Specialty Designer Series Papers. I have used the Big Shot Die Cut Machine to cut out my leaves using the Leaves Die.

I am really enjoying using sketches (this one used a sketch by Julie Bonner) and being pushed to use colours and layout designs I wouldn't normally use. Have a look at what Maree came up with using Blues and what Adele created with greens, and check back tomorrow to see what Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge #6 has in store for us!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 5

This week we have decided on a monochromatic challenge, each of us using different colour groupings as specified below:

To give us a starting point (Thank goodness- I feel REALLY challenged with this one!) we have decided to use this sketch from Julie Bonner for inspiration:

We can make a CARD or a SCRAPBOOK layout OR BOTH!!
Can’t wait to see what Adele and Maree come up with (wish I could see now for some extra pointers!!!) and how different the same layout can be just by changing colour! I think this one will be very interesting............

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 4- My Creation

I thought I would find it hard to use Stampin' Up's "Silhouette Sentiments" hostess stamp set on a scrapbook layout, but in the end, it came together well. I gave myself an extra challenge by trying to make a double page layout that was not symmetrical. I haven't had a chance to put photos on it yet- will have to show you again when I do!
Don't forget to check what Maree and Adele created, and come back tomorrow to read our new challenge!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 4

For this week's challenge, we are aiming to use the Stampin' Up! Colours Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla;
with the Level 1 Hostess Stamp Set "Silhouette Sentiments" which you can earn for free if you host a workshop with orders totalling $300. This is a very versatile stamp set (see below). Don't forget to check back next Monday to see what I have created; as well as what Adele and Maree have created too!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 3- My Creation

Here is my creation for our third challenge- using the "Make a Monster" Stamp Set; and the colours More Mustard, Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler. I added Crumb Cake to the mix to make the monsters stand out a bit more. I am looking for some cheeky photos of my boys for this one (I'm sure I have lots of them somewhere!); so I have titled my layout "Little Monsters". I Hope you like it! Don't forget to check out Adele's and Maree's creations too, and check back tomorrow to read all about our next challenge!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 3

This week we have stamped 12 monsters each from the Stampin’ Up! Make A Monster Stamp Set on the stripy and spotty papers of the Regals Paper Stack. We used the colours Riding Hood Red, Not Quite Navy and More Mustard. The only specification for our challenge this week is to use them in a scrapbook layout!

The colours are:-
And here is the image from page 62 of the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue to show you the stamps in this gorgeous set that allow you to mix and match to make cute little monsters:-

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 2- My Creation

Here is my creation for our second challenge. I haven't given it a title yet because I'm not sure which photos I will put on it, but I am very happy with this one! The large space at the bottom is where the title (left) and date (right) will go; and the yellow pieces are for journalling. Hope you like it!

Don't forget to check out what Maree and Adele have created; and look out for our new challenge tomorrow!

Stamp & Scrap Club #4

This Friday night is our 4th get together for Stamp & Scrap Club. This is a group of 6 lovely ladies who meet every 6 weeks to make a scrapbook layout and a card using a bundle of co-ordinated Stampin' Up! products. The benefits of Stamp & Scrap Club (apart from having a child-free social outing!) are that you get a share of products to keep without having to buy entire packages; so you are getting a wider variety of items for your money. I also take the stress out of it for you by creating co-ordinated bundles of product so that when you go home, you have enough matching items to keep creating! As well as these great incentives, because I place one bulk order, we are entitled to receive hostess stamp sets and free products as well! Email me on litlrach75@gmail.com if you would like more information on joining a Stamp & Scrap Club; or if you have a group of 5-6 friends and would like to create your own group to meet regularly with me to create!

For this Stamp & Scrap Club, we are using the Cottage Garden Stamp Set and Sunny Garden Designer Series paper to create one of the above cards, as well as the following layout:-

Here is a close up of the detail:-
The white photo mats on this layout are 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, so a 5x7" photo will fit nicely on each one; or two 4x6" photos trimmed to 3 1/2 by 5 inches will fit onto each mat.

Can't wait to see you all!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 2

Well we all survived challenge 1 and for Challenge 2 we decided to go for a scrapbooking layout sketch designed by Julie Bonner:-
To make the challenge more challenging, we have decided that we have to incorporate Stampin' Up!'s "Play Date" Designer Series Paper which has various prints in the following colours:

It's a paper pack that I've only used minimally, but have been pleased with the results when I have used it. Remember to check back next week to see what I come up with; and why not have a go yourself! Good Luck Adele and Maree!

Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge 1- My Creation

Here is my creation for our first ever Cheaper Than Therapy Challenge. We celebrated my lovely mother-in-laws 60th Birthday last week with a High Tea at our house, so I decided to combine the challenge with creating her birthday card! The challenge was to use Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Wild Wasabi colours with the "A Slice of Life" Hostess Stamp Set. Here is what I came up with- it looks a lot brighter in real life, and I used a whole A4 sheet as the base so it is twice the size of a normal card:-
A Slice of Life 60th Birthday Card
